The Project
Rory, at The INSPIRE Foundation got in touch with me not long after taking over as Director at the Foundation, I have been involved with INSPIRE and supported them with the IT infrastructure, and systems, after they had a bad experience with an external IT support company. So when it came time that the in-house web developer was approaching retirement, and the old website needed a facelift and update. Rory knew he could count on Sarum Tech.
The website needed to be very clean and simple, with the main focus on the incredible work the Foundation does, as well as giving them a suitable base to update news items, and event information for any one in the INSPIRe community.
In recent years, we’ve added an eCommerce web shop so the Foundation can sell merchandise and tickets for events.
The Solution
The first task was to build a website that would be easily managed by the in-house team at INSPIRE. We decided on WordPress as it offers the most flexibility, and is such an easy CMS to learn. It also meant when the website needed to grow, we could easily build and add functions to the website to grow with INSPIRE.
The current website is the second iteration of the design since taking over ownership of the project. This latest version was rebuilt in 2020 with a new theme and we added in a page builder so designing and adding new content to the website was even easier for the in-house team.
In 2021 we built a web shop for INSPIRE to begin selling merchandise and tickets for events. The website continues to grow and act as a hub for the INSPIRE community. We’re immensely proud of the work we’ve done with and for the INSPIRE Foundation.
